tTerm for Mac

What each version of tTerm for Mac changed for you, the newest first. Where a version brought a new page of tTerm Web into the window, its entry links to what changed there, and the technical details are in the releases on GitHub.

1 November 2026

  • Move to cloud takes each server the way you reached it: with the user and port you typed in ssh in tTerm’s terminals (ssh root@host, -l, -p), over those in ~/.ssh/config.
  • Move to cloud is now at the bottom of the account menu, right above Sign out: the page 0.1.19.

1 November 2026

  • Move to cloud in the account menu: the servers this Mac knows, from ~/.ssh/config, known_hosts and the ssh you ran in tTerm, go to your account and open from anywhere. Each goes the way you choose, My key, tTerm’s pass or Through this Mac, and nothing moves until you press Move.
  • After a successful ssh in a terminal of this Mac, a strip offers to keep that server in tTerm: Save my key or Let tTerm in.
  • Your keys go to a vault that only your devices open; tTerm cannot. On this Mac it opens with Touch ID or your Mac’s password and stays open while tTerm runs: this Mac then signs your servers in, also when you open them from tTerm Web or your phone.
  • A new browser that asks for your keys is approved on this Mac with Allow with Touch ID, if it shows the same code.
  • The page 0.1.17: Settings → Keys, and servers that open with your key or through your Mac.

31 October 2026

  • The first version on tterm.net, the local terminal: the shells of this Mac as blocks, with tTerm’s input line, and notes kept on this Mac, all with no account.
  • Sign in with your browser brings your servers, projects and notes into the same window, and this Mac becomes a machine in Personal. ⌘K searches this Mac’s commands and the cloud’s as one list.
  • In Settings → This computer, the switch Open from tTerm Web and your phone lets tTerm Web and your phone open terminals on this Mac while tTerm runs. With its window closed, tTerm stays in the menu bar.
  • tTerm updates itself from tTerm’s releases: Update by itself or Ask me first, in Settings → Updates.
  • tTerm speaks twelve languages, its menus and the menu bar too: Language in the account menu. Until you choose, it speaks your system’s language if it is one of the twelve, and English otherwise. The page 0.1.16.
